A little wet Black turf = three good and stuck cars.
it was so sad!!! one moment your moving the next all four wheels are happily turning without you moving an inch!!
Was great fun though!!! I was recovered three times, but then again the second I took the lead and the third I only had to cover another meter and I would been through!!!

Nothing as humbling as getting stuck and be recovered by a vehicle of an opposing brand!

We had great fun, everyone except the Hilux was recovered at some stage, but then again the Hilux was at the back and never did anything.....

I think I must start a "here's your sign"... for forum members who need to be recovered by the opposition...tonton wrote:Nothing as humbling as getting stuck and be recovered by a vehicle of an opposing brand!

Andre... I hand over my cruiser recovery "here's your sign" to you.

Geee thanx Simon, but the worst of the day was the landy being winged out by the Hilux!!
We did the Luderitz to Walvis trip after a week in the Kalagadi. So the truck was fully loaded with camping gear and 80lit of spare diesel on the roof(not ideal) and 75lit of drinking water and a RTT. The 60 lit Engel was full and so was the drawer system (including compressor). Our tyre pressure was .7bar every day for a week and we managed not to get stuck once in 600km of sand dunes.
We did have to attempt a few dunes more than once...but "rather do it over than over do it" was the mantra. The BFG A/T's looked FLAT but never failed us. I tried to stay in the tracks of the vehicle ahead ALL the time, although the steering is....less responsive...on those tyres. It does work though.
Generally it seems that people will not deflate tyres enough until forced to do so.
Quite a learning experience that was.
