OK, Sorted a squeeky cubby hole. The 4 pound test on the rear revealed that the plate covering the right rear brake disc is the culprit.....

Took off the wheel and the plate vibrates horribly (real tingy sound). All nuts are tight, and compared it to the other side where it doesnt make that sound... I tried glueing on a Foam tape (to change the resonance ) but it doesnt really help. Apart from twisting it or something similar, what could I do???

Maybe a stupid question, but have you checked the wear on your calipers? There is a metal needle placed to make a horrible ressonance (steel scraping sound) when the calipers reaches the point when they need replacement...

Anton, Nope, not that. The sound is only when I go over a bump..

Thought I'd close this after sooo long.

I finally found the squeek,much by accident! It wasn't the rear door or brakes.

The exhaust knuckle where the outlet manifold joins the cat,has two spring loaded bolts.

I had a standard exhaust refitted,and upon inspection,the squeek emanated from the joint.

Any suggestions for a suitable lubricant?

Hi Cas, that is a seriously HOT environment. One would expect most lubricants to burn off quickly, leaving soot behind to worsen the squeek. What about a good blast with a high pressure washer? A "squeeky" clean joint may stop squeeking.

There is a shaped seal ring (gasket) that goes at the flexible joint there, so two points to check.
1. Is the seal ring there and undamaged?
2. Are the fasteners to the correct torque (49Nm +/-4Nm)?

Shouldn't squeak and shouldn't need lubricant.

I tried Q20 just to be sure that was the nerve wrecker,and my day was made,until the return home when the lube dried up.

I think it might be the spring faces that are rubbing and causing the squeek.

I'll strip and look at it. Any thoughts on copper slip?

Copper slip should work, but gathers grime and dust.
Try dry carbon lubricant (spray).

I didn't think there was much out there for that type of application.I stock exhaust sealants,but not lubricants.

As Andrew said,I need to inspect the gasket,and hopefully it's fine.

I did supply the exhaust shop with one,and now I'm wondering whether it was replaced or not.

Oh happy days. The dreaded squeak has been eliminated. Turned out to be the handbrake shoe adjuster that had one of the springs resting on it.

The noise was gnawing at my nerves. After reading somewhere that it might be the hand brake, I started applying the hand brake on the road bumps where I knew the sound occurred. To my surprise the frequency of the squeak changed.

The rear discs were removed and all contact points on the backing plates and springs were lubricated, and voilà, I love this big hunk of metal. No more clenching my teeth over bumps and the beast is a pleasure to drive.
