Re: Mitsubishi Midrand - Bad service
My story about Mitshu Midrand is a bit different where i give them 5 stars compared to the BIG FAT ZERO for the Rustenburg agents.

My Mom received a letter from Mitshu doing a recall on the Pajero's for the Brake accumulator to be serviced and checked. after a couple of bad experiences with the RTB dealer (Heat guage acting like a rev counter, finding a replacement tail light and replacing a battery on the door remote which non of these went down with out a fight with RTB) we decided to go to Midrand.

So on 17 December 2010 we arrived at Midrand at 6:45 and was welcomed with an open door and arms waving to starting the process of booking in the vehicle (RTB makes you wait until 7:30 before they even look at you).

While we were there we decided to have the selectors replaced on the transfer box as we didn't use them in the 3years after my dad passed away.

We went for breakfast and when we arrived back at 10 we informed that it will take longer as they have to replace a part on the front diff motor also thats giving trouble (we did not pay for this part) 12 noon we got the call and we were presented with the Pajero fresh out of the wash bay even after we had it washed the day before.

All were friendly and everything worked fine and we left.

Total Cost were R2800 including VAT for replacing 5 selectors (R190 each) 1x valve and a bulb on the instrument panel. In May 2007 my dad paid R3000 including VAT for the same items in RTB paying R280 per selector. Now this made me wonder did the parts become cheaper or were we just ripped off in 2007?

anyways so we got home and we decided to go for two days to Augrabies from the 22nd to the 24th.

Tuesday the 21st i noticed that one of the bulbs of the right rear wheel is dead on the instrument panel, and as far as mechanical and technical knowledge goes, don't ask me. i work with finances. So i stopped against my better knowing at the RTB dealer, walked in and asked at reception of the workshop i can have a chat with someone about the dead bulb. She disappeared and i was standing in the vehicle booking area with floor managers walking past me as if i don't exist (In Midrand everyone that walked passed asked if i were helped already), so the lady receptionist returns and says that one of the mechanics told her that its a fuse thats dead. Upon me asking whether they can come and talk to me directly i got a stern answer that they are all busy and cant talk to me.

Being in a good mood i decided stuff them all, walked out and phoned Ferdi and spoke to him to clear up my concern that nothing bad will happen like a wheel coming of or anything like that with the light thats dead on the display.
We went on our trip with the dead buld and the wheel hasnt come off yet

So if any of you get stuck in Rustenburg with a Mechanical problem, call me and i will tow you to Gauteng where you can at least get service 8-)
