The gen3 runs on diesel and a petrol is normally thirstier than diesel, your diesel consumption sounds about on par but the 3.5 does sound a bit over the top and could do much better than that hence my suggestion to have a tuning specialist put it on a dyno and sort it out. I have been there and often it is a simple thing like a leak in an intake manifold causing a lean mixture or just the wrong plugs throwing things out.

If my baby only does 4.6km/l I would definitely complain

Over the past year, I have used 19.19lt/100km in town driving. Just checked. I admit, my wife drives it often and she was used to a BMW3 sportsline. So my Pajero tends to be "pushed" a bit.

I will see if I can find the official specs for my model and let you have it. I have not experienced 26lt/100km, but if my memory serves me correctly, it is what I remember the specs to say. I should still have the specs on my other computer.

I agree with Simon. I have a friend who had an old Hilux 4x4 - he got 300km to a tank, and then the tank was totally empty.

CATS is in Centurion so if he got some you might be able to get them over a cup of coffee :)

Christo doesn't have any but I have about 4 left... We're undergoing some restructuring and rebranding which will be complete by end of May, so there will be new merchandise then. Pop me a PM if you want stickers now.

Willem,

Those rims came with the Gen2, so someone swopped them at some stage. The stealers asked R800 each for the caps!

I bouht some for R80 each second hand via Gumtree. I suggest you keep yout eye on Gumtree.

I would look for the OME rims instead. They are commonly available at the scrap dealers. Then sell the Gen2 rims!

Regards,

Anton

Just checked the fuel consumption for my model.

Fuel Capacity 90
Fuel Consumpsion - Highway 10.9
Fuel Consumpsion - Urban 26.04
Consumption Annual Average 15.14

These were the official figures I found from Mitsu before I bought my vehicle. I think everyone will experience it differently, depending on vehicle, mileage, speed, if it is AT or manual and also the model.

Mine seems to be a bit heavier than others, but I think it is model, driving style and probably needed a good service. I will see now that it has had the good service how it goes.

gerald randall wrote: I did read about some guys in Australia which do a conversion on the Pajero which take the KW to 190. But. I do not think the vehicle was designed to do that. Although it should give you more speed for less revs you may do damage to the vehicle.
No Gerald this is impossible..the revs are directly linked to the drive-train. Same revs = same speed. Maybe you meant less effort, more speed.

This is a Gen 2.5. Did it have different rims than the Gen 2?
