SImon,

Please can you take photos and post of the Gen3 shocks, especially the front shocks, I am especially keen on seeing the settings and the available spaces on the front shocks please:

I am looking at the following info if available

preferably 15mm or 20mm spaces (height selections on the shocks themselves) on the front shocks (to allow for a 30 or 40mm increase height on the front)
I am looking to couple that with rear spacers from a 80 series Cruza (either 10mm or 15mm) which will cater for a 30 or 45mm height increase in the rear.

Thanks a mil

David

Hi Simon,
I've done 150 000km on my original set(Gen3 SWB). I think it's nearly time for a change! Do you think these HDP's will perform better than the Bilstein ones that I'm also considering? What are you paying for your set?

With no disrespect to Gabriel, I don't think Gabriels and Bilsteins are in the same league.
At least Gabriels don't cost as much as Bilsteins.
Bilstein is in my opinion the shock to get (amongst other reasons, because you can repair/service them).

Where can I get Bilsteins and what are they selling them for? I must admit the HDP is very price atractive.....

Yip - Indeed. I had the rear ones fitted yesterday and will have the front done today hopefully.

Here are some pics. So far they seem well made. I am not particularly fond of the rubber dust covers as I am always worried that they will get torn out in the bush by thorns, but maybe I will be proven wrong as the rubber part is very much tucked away.

Time will tell how they go and I will give comprehensive feedback after I have tried them out properly in December.

This is for the Gen3 Pajero. My vehicle is heavily modified and carries a big amount of extras in weight in the form of winch, batteries, steel bumpers, extra tanks etc. I also tow off Road Xplorer when I go off the beaten track, so my comparison will be done with these requirements in mind. I also have rear air helpers in for when I tow. See my previous feedback on IronMan for the Gen3 here - IronMan Feedback Gen3 Pajero - My vehicle is now standing on 254000kms.

The front ones on this particular model seem to have an adjustment for lifted suspension by changing the position of a circlip, which is interesting. Will see how that works out on my setup when I have them fitted.
