Sorry Ned. I had some computer issues. I'm up to speed again.

What I was referring to with regards to the LWB and Atlantis dunes is:

1. Power to weight ratio is a bit less than SWB and as such, requires more run-up to a steeper dune.

2. The rear over-hang of the LWB makes it next to impossible to go through a deep "dip",ie. where you go down one dune directly driving up the next (like at "groot duin" when you take the path to the right of the dune).

To each, his own. I am by no means saying that you shouldn't take part. Go for it and give it all you've got! :D

I will try to make it, but my weekends aren't my own unfortunately.

Nico.

Bad News Guys,

Just got my invoice (24K later) my Starter motor finally gave in as well, so new starter motor as well.

Good news is Pajero sounds like a dream.

Bad new is, I have to run it in, 1,000km, then oil changes, tightening, pressure tests and all, there's no way I'm going to be able to take part, as there's no way I'm going to push the Pajero the way I'd need to. :( :( :o

Hi Troos,

No, the starter was one of the minor things, Ive had the whole engine re-conned and balanced - new pistons, bearings, bushes, cam-belt, all pulleys & tensioners replaced, K&N filter, water pump, thermostat,, inlet valves, exhaust valve guides, seals etc replaced, also extended breathers on all diffs & transfer cases.
Total price R21,600 ex VAT.

Just waiting on him to check out a noise on my front suspension, then its good to go.
