yours is a "later" gen3 (after 2003) so you have MATT (Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology)

It consists of VSC (Vehicle stability control) and TC (Traction control)

If you have a rear diff lock button in the centre console then you have only VSC and not TC. (I suspect you don't have the rear diff lock button)

The reason you were pulled through is that the TC was applying brakes to the wheel in the air. If you have a video of it, look carefully and you will see that the wheel in the air will not be moving at the same speed as the one on the opposite side of the vehicle. Instead it will move in jerky motions as the computer figures out what is going on with the traction scenario and applies/releases brake correspondingly to send the power through a normal open diff to the wheel with traction.

AFAIK no pajero has ever been issued from the factory witha front diff lock.

Also note that the light on the dash that comes on when you engage HLc or LLc says that the stability/skid control is disabled. This is different to traction control.

You must have noticed a kind of axle windup going around these hairpins which triggered your concern. Honestly you have no front or rear difflock, but you do have a centre difflock which engages as soon as you select a short stick position showing Lc (for Lock) at the end. It could be 4HLc or 4LLc. Now with the centre lock engaged you will get some windup because your rear axle travels a shorter distance than the front axle does. It will be noticable on a hard surface. Frankly you should not be to concerned to have this happening on the odd occasion. Your Pajero will stand up to that. You may find that your steering and turning circle will try to keep the car going wide on such a hard surface, but that is normal with 4X4 driving.
