yours is a "later" gen3 (after 2003) so you have MATT (Mitsubishi All Terrain Technology)
It consists of VSC (Vehicle stability control) and TC (Traction control)
If you have a rear diff lock button in the centre console then you have only VSC and not TC. (I suspect you don't have the rear diff lock button)
The reason you were pulled through is that the TC was applying brakes to the wheel in the air. If you have a video of it, look carefully and you will see that the wheel in the air will not be moving at the same speed as the one on the opposite side of the vehicle. Instead it will move in jerky motions as the computer figures out what is going on with the traction scenario and applies/releases brake correspondingly to send the power through a normal open diff to the wheel with traction.
AFAIK no pajero has ever been issued from the factory witha front diff lock.
