HI Roelf
I was just wondering why you decided on Delo gold, and not multigrade??
I am switching to Delo 400 multigrade from Castrol EDGE synthetic this weekend.

Nick,
To be honest - I didn't decide on Delo "anything".
I took the Micra for a service at the dealer and I know they use Delo in their diesel cars. When I started my "inquest" did I determine which Delo they were using.
I'm still clueless about the different Delo oils. Actually stood in MACRO on Sat looking at the oil shelf. They had three Delo oils available. If I didn't have a tug 'o war going with the wife for the credit card at the time, I would have taken a pic of the three and brought it to this forum for discussion.
I stuck 15W40 multi-grade in my 3.8V6 SWB at the 90k service.

Hello.
Where is the best place to buy the Delo 400 Multigrade? I looked on the Makro website but their picture differs from that on the Caltex website.

Gerbek,
I was shocked when I recently discovered a choice of Caltex Delo 400
, which shows you I'm not qualified to answer. But I don't mind taking a wild guess
Personally, I'd just buy the Makro stuff that says: DELO 400 Multigrade 15W40 - how far out can you be?
Remember to buy two if you plan on filling up the monster sump on your DiD motor

Delo 400 is a multigrade oil conforming to 5 of the strictest performance standards, for use in engines working very hard using dirty diesel - flagship miniral oil from DELO.
Delo Gold comes in multi grade, SAE30 and SAE 40, only conforms to 3 lesser performance standards, yet still very high standards, for use in engines not working that hard or using cleaner diesel.
Then they have the silver range as well, I would say for smaller diesel engines doing light work.
They have a synthetic oil also conforming to the latest specs but its meant for the newer generation diesel engines.
