I like what you are doing, I am am quite interested in the final product as I have toiled with the same idea for some time My question is....Will it be able to support mounting for high lift jack points?
Any info and Pic's in this regard will be most appreciated

The current mounting will not support the vehicle or high lift points. However i have come up with a solution to this and as soon as i get some time i am gonna work on it.I think however i will start from scratch and use much thicker materials as the standard tubing is flimsy.

Hey there. I helped John by designing the bottom slider section and we both installed that on out cars. John then went and had the round tubing added by someone in Bloem, looks very good but I haven't finished off yet. Here are some pics of John's finished product:

Morning Kurt I also want to manufacture sliders for my 2010 GLX LWB. Any possibility of getting the design it will save me from re-inventing the wheel? Haver you changed the skid plate underneath the engine also?
Thanks
Piet

Hi Piet. Let me see if I can find the design, I had it on my old work laptop but now with the new laptop I can't install my CAD programme. Otherwise I will try give you some details from memory/measurement.

Yes, I've got both of the Stofpad bashplates, under the engine and under the gearbox.

The picture shows the top view dimensions of the bracket positions, I used 76x50x3 rectangular tubing and the brackets were 50x6mm flat bar, slightly overlapped to give two weld points for added strength. The hole positions are on the cad drawing which I cannot open, I used Draftsight64 to draw them.
The measurements above are in mm, and the flat bar is welded on perfectly upright and straight. I got the hole positions by taking a piece of plywood and marking the holes with a pencil, the challenge is to get the height correct so that the slider sits about 5mm from the body edge to allow for some flex.
Sorry I can't give more detail at this time. Cheers.
