Thanks Roelf. Yes I also thought about that posting. I am still weary on unplugging anything at this stage. But maybe I will have less resistance to this idea tomorrow on New Years day and give it a go.
I already spoke to Alan Black and they can only really help by the 6th. At least we are all back home safely and this is not my only transport so it can be fixed at leasure.

Bad news there Cats - especially this time of year.
Good luck on the fixing - hopefully not too einah on the wallet
When you've got a Landie & a Paj - it's not supposed to be the Paj that ends up on the flatbed

But we'll cut her some slack for the previous 300K km
Cheers and all the best for 2014
Tom

No. I am out of the country from next week for a few days, so decided to rather not rush anything and rather wait till I get back and the year has started in all earnest. I will keep all updated but I am bracing myself for a diesel pump overhaul at this stage.

Hi CATS,
Any feedback yet on Snoopy's state of health?

Nope not yet. Only got back this last weekend and now trying to catch up at work.
Preliminary booked to get Snoopy picked up on Monday to take her to a diesel specialist for quote.

OK. So I have booked a flatbed to come and pick up Snoopy at my house on Monday but now I have a slight dilemma:
I have been referred by someone, who's opinion I hold in high regard, away from Alan Black to Randburg Diesel and Turbo.
Now I have not had dealings with either directly in the past, except that I know Mitsubishi Midrand at the time when I had injectors replaced and pump calibration done, sent the vehicle to Alan Black.
Which one do I choose? I have spoken to both companies and both seem eager to assist me in letting go of some of my valuable money and both seem to know what they are talking about. Both also assured me that they have the necessary machinery to test and redo the notorious Zexel diesel pump.
I have so far booked it at Randburg Diesel but am still open to change if anyone out there can convey some solid reasoning. What you say??

Alan Black has always been accepted as the go-to company, when it comes to Bosch / Zexel diesel pumps.
I have not read anything negative about them.
I can't say anything about Randburg Diesel and Turbo.

Randburg Diesel is also a Bosch agency, if that means anything at all, and they seem to be the new kids on the block, which could translate into either good or bad. I think I am going to give them a go and see how it goes(holding thumbs).
