If you do not use a fairly thick oil, change to a 80w90 gear oil. This will also help to dampen the noise slightly.

My Pajero 's got 307 000 on the clock now. Except for a right rear oil seal on the rear diff
I agree with Willie. I've changed my driving style and it is much better now. I can feel and hear the diffrence when my wife drives the car as she is not used to it and has not adjusted to it. Big diffrence.
I also repalced my diff oil with Redline 75W140 and must say the noise is the same when it eventaully ocurs but with the new oil it takes longer to start (mine is worse the hotter the oil gets)

Stangely enough my oil seal on the right-hand side is also leaking. Maybe I must replace it with a left-hand seal as they seems better :) :)
