Also looking for shocks 2004 pajero. Am told that Bilstein is very good but expensive. Also to put old man 's on with coils i am told raises car by +\~ 4cm. Is this worth the price ? Already have 220 000km on clock and am afraid of overspend on older vehicle. Any advice?

A lift is only useful if you go off-road a lot and do "heavy" trails. Otherwise the stock shocks are the best option, and cost effective.

All in all it depends on what you use the Paj for, then decide.

I am temporarily NOT impressed with my Paj (Gen3).

I never had problems getting replacement shocks for any of my Cruisers (even "Donkie", a 1987 station wagon). But the past 3 weeks I have been battling to find stock of ANY heavy duty shocks.

This is my experience so far:
- Monroe - Everyone is quick to quote but they cannot get stock - expected end July 2017??
- Ironman - discontinued for Gen3
- OME - just the shocks will set me back almost R12k and no confirmed stock
- EFS - cheaper than OME but out of stock in all of SA as of yesterday - again, expected end of July 2017...why the same expected date as Monroe?
- Rancho - can get but in 2 weeks

I can get KYB but it's normal/light duty.

Hope none of you need shocks in a hurry.

Have you tried to get hold of some Tough Dog shocks? Also a option.

LA Sport said no Tough Dogs, they can only get OME for the Gen3. Tough Dogs were discontinued.

I should be getting Monroe shocks next week.

Update: Got my new Monroe shocks installed today.

Nobody has stock then you speak to the right guy and he phones a contact and they delivered today. Fresh from the ship that docked in Dbn last week.

How many km can I expect on the original set of shocks on 2014 lwb gen 4. We have done 120 000 km on the original set which includes a fair amount of towing, gravel roads and limited serious off-roading.
