I have just received my new tail lights from SG Auto Parts in Brackenfell and am having them fitted on Wednesday. The plugs are not quite compatible though.

This is what they look like:

I finally got time this weekend to do this.

I retro fitted the current lights to take a dual filament holder.

I also moved the reverse lights to the bottom and put the indicators up top. All in all took a few hours and well worth the time and effort! So happy with the results. Makes a huge difference to visibility!!

After changing mine, I have had a two people coming up to me saying that it is so much more visible.

I have also been meaning to do this for quite a while.

The part that seems to be skipped over is the actual wiring diagram. Is there anyone on the forum that has the actual wiring diagrams (I assume chasis wiring) of the lower tail lights and the middle combination tail lights and upper stop lights.

The manuals that you can download off this website only shows the physical lights, not the wiring diagram. I would like to know where-to exactly the existing wiring goes in the wiring loom. With this knowledge, one can then do a more "stylish" re-activation of rear tails (The combination lights as, they are called on section 54A-page47 in the chasis electrical section of the CK Manual)

Hi,
I did the same mod....fitting Globe holders to the rear lights, but removed again and did what to my opinion the best option (found it somewhere on the forum, can't remember who posted it)is to cut the rear lens back-plate so as to fit a "3 in one" truck light, it takes some time to cut the back-plate open the hole to take the truck light and then "silicon" it in place, but it is all worth the end result.

your best bet is too just trace the wires, i have used wiring diagrams from other installs before and you can never be too sure, sometimes someone crosses a wire or something. I unplugged the main plug from the light and then systematically tested each pin, from there i followed the wires back and spliced into the loom. Solder each connection and use heat shrink. then if you can and feel the need use one large heat shrink over all the connections. Just remember to put this on first and feed it down the wires so you can wrap it later.

I also kept the common ground so there is no pain when coming to replace a globe or fiddle with the lights.

I also looked at the truck light option but my lights have the reflectors in them and work 100%, I just drilled out a hole big enough for the twin connector globe golder and then silicone it into place. When you do this, take not of where the filaments are and make sure you match it on the other side. so "taller" one on the inside then taller on the inside on the other light, this will give a symmetrical look when the lights are on. I tested it the other way and it just looked off.
