John, I'm pretty sure that your dash is the most well explored in the world, and a "few" times is a massive understatement

he even had it open on Friday night when we stayed over on our way to the eastern cape. For no reason other than showing me where else he is searching for a new fix.... Watch this space

Thanks, I found that pdf and read through the thread on the 4x4 community forum. I will give the cable tie fix a go.
My dash seems to rattle quite a bit on the section above the radio, with a lot of flex on that black plastic panel on the dash behind the radio. Could I open up the dash on that point too? What is the purpose of that panel?

Okay, managed to do a few cable ties on the passenger side.
First, that panel I mentioned on the dash, opens easily and there are numerous points there to fix a cable tie back to the steel tube.
Secondly, there is a plastic pipe right above the vent pipe on the passenger far left side. There seems to be a lot of play on this pipe. It looks like the purpose of this pipe is to hold the dash on that point. A cable tie around that back to steel pipe helped to tighten my dash on the passenger side. A lot of vibration came from that area where it meets the windshield.
My biggest rattles still, seems to be from the actual glove box. And also the spare wheel on the door.

Be careful that you cable tied the correct brackets on the passenger side and drivers.
The one you are describing sounds like a pipe and not a bracket. In that case you might end up damaging something as that could be your aircon duct for the smaller vents. There is only 1 place that is effective to use the cable ties.

John and I were discussing another weekend Dash fix sometime soon. We didn't set a date yet but we want to see what interest there is. Who's keen for the brackets and/or cable ties? It will be in Joburg again.

Hi
I am going to Rivonia next week for a course from Monday till Thursday. Is there anybody that can help me with this little issue? I should be free from 16:30 and am willing to pay for the service.
