Roelf,

Is it possible to give more info eg: when do we start with the trip, do we sleep in the mountains, when do we go back to 'civilisation', water, toilets, are we to be totally self sufficient (water toilet etc), etc. I have to plan an extra visit before or after the mountain trip - it is too far from here to go to the mountains for only two days.

Roelf,

I assume the plan is to sleep in the mountains. When will we go into the mountain (Fri or Sat) and when will we leave/return? Do we have to be fully self-sufficient (water, toilet, etc)?

Info needed so that I can plan for an additional visit either before or after the excursion.

Gents,

The way things are looking at the moment:

1) We have four committed Pajeros; myself, Frik, Willem and Cloyd
2) Frik and I live in Barberton and Willem is already booked into accommodation in town. Cloyd is free to either camp in the mountain or sleep in accommodation in town.
3)Cats, MThompson, Bigwill and Gerbek have expressed interest, but are not committed yet.

I had a chat with Cloyd this morning and we decided to see who else commits to a mountain sleepover before the end of next week. If nobody else commits, then we will not sleep in the mountains. The trip will then be the same as previous years. Everybody will make their way to Barberton in their own time for a meeting on Saturday morning at 9am and then head off into the mountain for most of the day. Lunch, snacks and drinks you need to bring along for your own consumption in the mountain. That evening I'll arrange a venue in or near town for a get-together braai and then everybody heads off home the next day. If anybody is keen on the Sunday to drive back to Gauteng via Bulembu and Msauli to follow the Geo-trail http://www.geotrail.co.za/, then I'll happily accompany them as a guide.

I hope this answers some of the questions out there.

Regards
Roelf

I am still keenly following this thread but can only commit once I have the key of old Snoopy back in my hands. Currently still awaiting parts on a slow boat from Japan.

Well Cats,

At least you and Snoopy now have a date to keep an eye on. It just wouldn't feel right to not have you along.

Strongs with your repair job!
