Tell me, do you know what that small black cylindrical device is on the top of your diesel filter? Look like a sensor of sorts?

No. I dont know what it is andas far as I can recall it was not on there on my gen3. Probably some sort of sensor.

So after all the electrics sorted in the engine bay I had to find a place to fit some switches on the inside. I found a brilliant solution on the Ausie Pajero forum where ARB style Carling switches are used that clip in exactly the spot left when removing the card holder and small cubby hole next to it. I struggled to find similar switches but eventually traced some down in the Cape from a company that ussually use them in boat building. You get them in all sorts of colours but I could only get red with green glow when ON. I think it looks the bees knees!! 7 switches with their surrounds fill the gap exactly. I dont have the need for 7 switches yet so played around a bit with the labeling

Ha.. hope you told the techy to wire it to the correct seat and not the right seat
So today took Casper in for its 130000km service.
This should be a minor service with basically just an oil filter and oil change, but because I bought the vehicle at just over 120000kms and the 120000km service was done by the dealer where I bought it from and not from Mitsu, like all the other previous services in the book, I was a bit worried that they took a shortcut on the expensive 120000km mayor service. As a result I basically redid the 120000kms service and changed, over and above the normal engine oil and filter the following:
Gearbox oil was pretty dirty so will see if it makes any noticeable difference on gear changes. I plan to replace the Automatic Transmission fluid more often than specified and will replace the gearbox oil again, with the gearbox filter, on 150000kms as precautionary maintenance.

- All diff oils
- Automatic gearbox oil with the Mitsu Diaqueen ATF III oil
- airfilter changed
- pollen filter changed
- fan belts replaced
- radiator drained and refilled with the Mitsubishi manufacturer coolant

Taking care of the 120k items is 100% the way to go.
I wonder if the poor tranny oil caused the blip up the mountain or if the blip caused the deteriorated oil.

Hi cats, the ATF oil on the invoice seems to be either very cheap or very little they put in for the flush/Change? You normally need about 10lt for a proper flush of the torque converter via the ATF cooler under the radiator at the front?
Last price I had on diaqueen was about R100/liter or just over R400.00 for a 4lt tin from mitsubishi?
