Hi guys,

Problem is that in most gearboxes, fourth is the only "direct" drive, meaning that you are not running on any sideshafts. When you tow in fith gear, you are actually using an indirect drive. Putting to much stress on this indirect drive, will ruin it over time. So definately better to do towing in fourth gear especially when applying heavy torque.

I cannot find any write up in any manual or on the internet regarding towing guidelines on the Pajero Automatic gearbox?
