Or you can use a thread insert like Heli Coil / Time-Sert.

Okay. Phoned stealers, want to charge me R 52.86 each for a 100x10mm HT bolt, ex Japan and 21 working day waiting time   !! Luckily I founds all the lengths and specs on the Service manual.

I will get the bolts from bolt-fast and see what condition the threads are in, I might need some time-serts or helicoils.

On another note, I am looking for the plastic idler pulley for the fan belt, want to avoid the stealers if I can - they charge R589.82 each, but steep I think... It is a 24mm wide by 7 rib belt by 74mm in diameter?? Suggestions? I found the steel one at masterparts for R 189.00, no plastic one thus far at them or Alert engine parts.

Didn't Marius once mention using a Golf idler pulley? - can't remember if it was for the same application though.

Okay, so it pays to phone around just to make sure. Masterparts here near me(Stikland) does not have the grooved poly 'V' belt pulley for the 6G74 motor and said the franchise does not stock them at all, but Kenilworth branch does have in stock ... go figure!!

Looks good! Are you installing a long range tank, or is this only for a second spare?

Looks good. Only needs a Pajero Club sparewheel cover to finish it off nicely! :)
