How much mileage had your Pajero done? 151 000km
Is it the original motor? Yip
Any major work? had front suspension "refresh" done about 3 000km ago.

Any major work? None other than service items and wear and tear eg. cambelt.

Is it the original motor? Yes
Any major work? Diesel pump was done on a 150,000 Km , and then just brake pads , then just normal servicing.

Sad when my "new" car is regarded as an instant member of the High Mileage Club. This is what credit aversion does to you. But seeing my application to join the Mile High Club was denied, I'll take what I can get

Any major work? Zip (if the previous (second) owner has his facts straight. He did mention it was chipped though (I think he referred to the engine, not the windscreen, which is chipped too)

Any major work? Replaced the front crank shaft oil seal/timing belt at 210,000. Currently using 500ml oil with each tank of fuel so I am considering a

full engine overhall.

Harras, it is likely that you don't need to completely overhaul the motor. The Mitsu V6s have really tough bottom ends. It is likely that the oil burn is due to worn valve stem seals/guides, so replacing these might be all that is needed.
