Hi Riaan.
I would love to help you out but it’s a really expensive exercise to do for only a handful of guys. There is the cost of the fuel and toll fees to get to Durban and back plus accommodation.
Unfortunately I don’t get down to Durban at all so it will have to be a special trip.
But let’s see, maybe we can make a plan. Send me a PM with your number and we can start discussions.
Regards,
Kurt

Hi Kurt,
From the thread I gather you are based in Gauteng (Joburg) ? Would you be able to apply your "fix" to my 2007 DID GLX. We regularly travel off the beaten track and the rattle is driving the Wife and I crazy !!!
Thanks Wynand (zero824140598)

Good day - is there a garage/service provider who can fix dash rattle in my Pajero.
It is so bad you can't talk in the car when on a Botswana track.
Any contact names/number will be appreciated.

Hello Clive,
The dashboard fix by Kurt G is good BUT...this will not solve the corrugated roads problem.
After Kgalagadi I fitted Old Man Emu thinking it will fix the problem. Just returned from the Richterveld and the problem is the same, even with tyres at 1 bar.
The Pajero Gen 4 does not handle corrugations well. The noise is horrendous - no possibility of talking. The handling remains ok. Over 60 KM/hr the corrugations are ok but the speed limit is 40 in the parks. Also slowing down for game viewing is quite exciting as you drop through the critical speed. No fun at all.
Too late research after fitting the Old Man Emu reveals that this is a known Pajero problem - it seems because of the monocoque body. Ladder frame bakkies have rubber between the chassis and the body.
Nobody seems to have a solution. Lots of talk about progressive spring rates but no success stories
The only good thing is when you reach sand or tar everything is quiet and normal again.
The corrugation bouncing is so bad that the wipers and right indicator comes on.
The advised solution is a piece of foam or tissue under the stalks to keep them up.
