Hi guys,

Today I replaced all the outside pulleys - auto tensioning pulley and the two idler pulleys. After removing them, I tested each one. The one pulley idler was definately on the way out and the other two were still fine but I decided to replace them whilest everything was open. I will, when time permit, replace the bearings in all three and keep them for futher use. While I was working I also decided to find the possible exhaust leak that one could hear. Low and behold, I found that the righthand side exhaust manifold was cracked. I removed it and had it welded and the mating surface machined to get it 100% flat. I then fitted everything and started my Pajero. It sounded like a brand new engine. Time and money well spent.

Also in preparation for Baberton, fitted my "offroad" rims and tyres. Still need to wash the car and then travel to the erstwhile eastern Traansvaal for a week before Baberton.

Hi All,

Its been a while since my last post, but lets do it!

I have fitted Lightforce Spotlights. Standard ones, as the HID is a bit expensive at R8000 a set. So far I'm very impressed, but have not tested them on the long road yet...

I have also decided to chip my vehicle, after a long internal debate. So I took my vehicle to Steves (SAC) and installed a Unichip. Main success measure according to me will be fuel consumption, which seams to have improved if you can manage to keep your driving style before the chip was installed. Final verdict is still out, as I will take the 6 fuel ups prior to installation and compare them to the 6 fuel ups after installation to get to a proper verdict.

A new 'ZA' Sticker, a Voetspore ene nogal

I have also removed the 'standard' black hard plastic wheel cover and replaced it with a BF spare. Reason for this being that the wheel size I drive 265/70 does not fit in the wheel cover.

The above two changes was done for my planned Mozambique trip to Ponta Malangane this coming long weekend, but I like them so much they will most probably become permanent

Cheers
