Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?
After a 130 000kms I thought I would get the injectors tested.

Went to Alan Black, who put it on the dyno. They came back to me to say the engine output is still within manufacturer specs, and since it does not smoke and sounds fine, they recommend not pulling the injectors.

Made my day :)

Service was great. Hope they know what their taking about!

Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?
Well so far I have done the following:
1) Stofpad bashplate x 2
2) New "pirate" front grill (I bought the car with a damaged one)
3) Stofpad spacers in front and new stiffer coils at the back (50mm and 20mm lift respectively)

Next is removal of DPF.

I dont think any South Africa Pajeros have Diesel Particul Filters fitted, yet. Are you referring to the cathalitic (sp) converter?

Looking good but I think that recovery hook is upside down and will do some serious ploughing on steep dips.

Re: What have you done to your Pajero today?
I had enough of my Pajero overheating once again, so I had a friend weld the thermostat in the full open position.

Sorted!

Now to see if she's still using water. Hopefully the gasket hasn't been damaged.

Sorted?
I don't think so.

An engine needs a thermostat to regulate the coolant temperature.
Running the engine to cold is (nearly) as bad as running it to hot.
A major difference is that it takes longer to pack up (when running cold).

Find the source of the overheating, solve that and put back the thermostat.

Maybe, I am not sure, but that could only apply for the common rail engine with electronic injectors, not the earlier 3.2 non-common rail with mechanical injectors.
