Shell helix is a good oil also so no sludge should be present unless the oil change intervals have seriously been neglected. Just go for drive to get the engine and oil warm. Let it idle for the turbo to cool.
Shut down the engine
Let old oil drain until it no longer drips ( about 15 minutes ) - remove oil filter while this is draining
put sump plug back
put new oil filter on
fill with delo 400
start and let her idle - do not rev when oil light is on!
Go for a short drive around the block, check for leaks.

oops. thought we talking about the 2.8 diesel.
change intervals are 15'000km then. Delo 400 should stay fairly clean for about 1500km but only after the 4th change.

The canister to the right of the fan shroud is the A/C dryer ( A/C filter and moisture remover ) with the sight glass on top of it. The electrical connection on top of it is probably the high pressure cut-off sensor.
The left hand electrical connection is the wiring going to the electrical fan.

one more Question.
Should there not be something on the A/C dryer's left thread??

No. It is an access port that they use to fill and drain the system.
That port needs to be cleaner than a surgeons office and should also have a cap to keep it clean.
I would recommend to get some degreaser and soak it and then clean thoroughly with a soft toothbrush and then rinse with alcohol and put a cap on to keep dirt out.

Hi all
Just found a brand new problem on my Paj. The radiator pipe going into the engine. Thus the bottom one, is pressing against one of the pulleys and has thus gotten a nice sliced hole in it. I was able to fix it by cutting it and adding a piece of steel tubing and clamping it, but this a very temporary repair, where can i get one of these pipes as the agents in Benoni has to order it and that would take tooooo long. And then is this a problem that anybody has seen before, how can I take it away from the pulley???
Thanx again for all the people on the Forum helping me "service" my baby from afar!!!

Ask your mitsubishi dealer. They aren't that expensive.
Mine was flown in from Japan in 2 days!
R120.97 on my 3.0 V6 when I did my build a couple months ago.
