RoelfleRoux wrote: I had a chat with Cloyd this morning and we decided to see who else commits to a mountain sleepover before the end of next week. If nobody else commits, then we will not sleep in the mountains. The trip will then be the same as previous years. Everybody will make their way to Barberton in their own time for a meeting on Saturday morning at 9am and then head off into the mountain for most of the day. Lunch, snacks and drinks you need to bring along for your own consumption in the mountain. That evening I'll arrange a venue in or near town for a get-together braai and then everybody heads off home the next day. If anybody is keen on the Sunday to drive back to Gauteng via Bulembu and Msauli to follow the Geo-trail http://www.geotrail.co.za/, then I'll happily accompany them as a guide.
Hi Roelf,

I am very keen and have diarised this.

SWAMBO will be away so if anyone wants to attend but doesn't have a drive I am happy take a passenger along.

Happy to either sleep in my 2 man dome tent up the mountain or sleep in a budget B&B in town. Happy to share the spare slot in the dome tent too if we sleep up the mountain.

Would also love to explore the drive back to Gauteng via Bulembu and Msauli under your guidance.

Now we have six committed Pajeros, with another two (Cats and Allan) with more than just a toe in the door. This is great news. If the new route is what I remember from a decade ago, then we could be in for a memorable weekend.

Hi Roelf

Any recommendation for accommodation?

Are we having a social again the Saturday night?

I quite like Fountain Baths and also recommended them to Andrew.

I'll contact the owner and see if I can negotiate a get-together on her premises for the Sat evening.

We will have a social on the Saturday evening, if not at Fountain Baths, then somewhere else.

Good to hear Fountain Baths is still recommended. We had a booking there last year, but due to the little sump problem...we never made it.

Thank you,

Hi All,

Don't leave your booking at Fountain Baths too late. When I booked today Sue said that weekend is filling up fast.
