Yes it was a long day and my back took a beating as I dont have a engine hoist which would have helped a lot. To be honest I think I might have given up too easily. Maybe I must rethink it again. Dropping it about 4.5cm can't be that difficult?
But on the other hand I am somehow glad it did not fit. That is some serious weight that one adds to the front. For what I am using my vehicle it might not warrant that weight being carried around.
Still think I will do the hidden winch mount thing though. A winch is like an insurance payment. Somehow you hope to never need it, but if you do you are really glad you made the effort.

Hi cats, jeepers that looks like some serious stripping that happened there. I am sure you could have the brackets modified to drop the bumper 50mm? I agree with a winch, definitely some serious insurance you take with on every trip, if not for yourself for the folks coming with you. Perhaps a type of trade for the ARB bumper for a concealed winch mount?

Why don't you guys just stick a cardboard box in the grill. It weighs less and gives the required restricted airflow.

Funny clown
I think it actually improves airflow if you get a well designed unit.

Almost like a ram-air effect??
Most probably, I'm just jealous (and thus nasty) 'cause I don't have one.

So since the ARB from my gen3 did not fit without too much rework needed I decided to fit my old IPF spotlights and finally the VHF and 29meg radio antenna.

So earlier on this thread we spoke about the Aux cable installation. Well I bought my cable a while ago and decided to install it tonight. It works. Took a few minutes and works like a charm. The wife is happy (its her daily drive) and I'm chuffed that i got it to work without any hassles. Thanks for the info CATS ;D
