 Suspension and brake upgrade / replacement:

3.5 V6 1998 LWB Gen 2.5
Amazing what a "FRESH" set of wheels & rims can do to a "PADJE'S" moral ?? Throw in an IRONMAN upgrade, and she's rearing to go - pulling at the "bit"

Cost ?

Once you are used to the extra oomf and return to your normal drive style I would be interested to see what difference it made to our consumption. One of my manifolds has a crack in it and there is no way I am going to pay the stealer's prices for a new one and welding is not an option to consider

Hi HBannink

I luckily remembered to ask for my OME manifolds back. Looks like they were not cracked, as initially expected, only blowing past the gaskets, which had not been re-torqued, after replacement engine was fitted +-14000km ago.

Now I must remember to have new application re-torqued after 1000-2000km ??

When 1st free flow exh system was fitted in 2002, by SAC, the previous owner had not had original manifolds replaced with performance manifolds. Now i've had full system, incl manifolds (Wildcats), replaced. The Padj has a mild to mellow sound, which has a reasonable (but not annoying) timbre / V6 growl, when "pushed". The Padj is much quieter on the idle as well.

Now with the small extra power increase, better free-flow of exh outgassing, I will monitor power AND CONSUMPTION closely. They have also rechecked the UNICHIP that was originally fitted in 2002, with the first free flow installation.

It only helps with the management / setting /co-efficiency calibration, if I understood correctly. :geek: :geek:

Will keep other forum members informed, as it seems almost everybody is interested (as I am), for a better fuel consumption / power ratio. :D :D

Hi HBannink

The total cost came to R6000.00 (not bad considering, a full s/s 3x box installation, with mild steel, performance manifolds x2), included an engine wash, & handbrake adjustment............and the much appreciated courteous service from front counter staff.
This is my second Padj (still have the first one), that i'm now bringing to the same workshop.

My Fiat Doblo 1.9D ( non-turbo), 37500km, is next on the lineup, for a little engine / diesel pump tickling......
