John, this sounds like an excellent idea - and if it could happen before end August, we can include a short hunting trip too - if you are that way inclined ?
I will have a chat with the local Pajero agents and see if they know of more Pajeros. I wll let you know.
Cheers.

Hi Pajeronimo

I'm in the southern suburbs of Cape Town, but usually travel to the owners location to do the dash fixes as I have limited space.

You can call me on 08two49two351two.

Hello everyone from Adelaide Australia.
I have a dash bracket that I made from the original design that John supplied and also have the dash removal tool ready to go.
However my confidence in doing this is not great.
When you all get together to do your dash fixes, would it be possible for someone to video the procedure on their phone and post to Youtube.
Especially the process for removing the dash parts.
I have seen a Youtube of removal of the centre area but I drastically need some assistance with the drivers side over by the window as I have an issue with
the main dash rail not being fixed to the drivers body side correctly and lots of movement.
Could I also have a plan of the new aluminium brackets and perhaps I may make a second set.
Many thanks everyone and keep up the good comments.

I will make a video about the panel removal and the fix seperately for ease of use.
The aluminium bracket is made in the exact same measurements as the steel ones so no difference there

Today I am a happy camper - I decided to drive to CT and accept Ian' s offer for the dash fix. What a pleasure to drive with the shorty now - without any annoying dash rattle !
I am totally impressed with the way in which Ian installed the fix, and the pleasant banter in between. It is topclass workmanship. Also my appreciation to the inventors of the fix - you created a solution to a problem that Mitu's engineers have no answer for.
I recommend this fix to everyone with a gen 4 - even as a preventative measure to safeguard against future problems.
Ian, Elsa also extends her appreciation - she took it for a test drive and is absolutely over the moon....something I rarely accomplish !!

plow and JohnG, I spoke to the guys at Mitsu in Windhoek - they do not know of anyone else requiring a dash fix, and honestly, I think they could not care less...
I decided to have the fix done in Cape Town - see my post above.
John, thanks for offering to come and help. It is much appreciated.
Cheers.

Great stuff Namboer, great to hear that there is such a difference. One thing John and I are always worried about is wasting your time and money on something that doesn't make a difference. Well done Ian, your next consignment of brackets is on its way tomorrow.... :D

Hi Leon (aka Namboer)

Thanks for the accolades. It was a pleasure spending time with you and your son this morning, as well as meeting the rest of your family. And I'm glad you're happy with the job.

Thanks too for your acknowledgement of the inventors of the dash fix. As I said to you this morning, the effort put in leading up to the solution was immense, and without John and Kurt's input we would not have been doing what we did today.

I'm thrilled that your wife Elsa is so happy with her 'dash fixed' shorty. As I told you this morning during the 'after fix' test drive you allowed me to take, that 3.8 stole my heart, and I'm going to make very sure that my own wife never gets near one, or else it's going to cost me lots and lots of money, :)

Enjoy the rest of your holiday with your family in Cape Town, travel safely back to 'Nam', and please stay in touch.

Regards, Ian.
