Yes Gerrit you're correct. From what the previous owner told me, it was one of the last vehicles sold by Ford before MB took over the agency. He therefore got it at a very good price.

Any major work? No, just time belt replacement (on time), and standard maintenance. Improvements: complete Ironman suspension kit.
Things to do: front bumper+winch, rear bumper with spare wheel holder, side steps/rock sliders, roof rack, 33" (34") Mud Terrain wheels.

Was my 1st car that I bought and ended up with a bit of "kat in die sak". Was to hasty with the buy and the salesman worked me over, anyway so you learn.

Used oil from the word go and the hydraulic lifters made a hellavu noise. Top reconed on 138 665 km and total engine rebuild by SAC Milnerton on 153 321 km. Since then so problems. Just the usual maintenance every 10 000 km and one or 2 items I deemed neccesary for preventative maintenace.

One issue cropped up after last week's major service on 264 000 km, but I'll mention that in the related engine thread.

I am a new member here and only got my car on Friday 13 May 2011 Luckily I am not superstitious....

Major work: Bored 0.040, new pistons,rods,oil pump.Polished crank. New A/T pump.New calipers(front)Wheel cyl(rear)new brake flex hoses,shoes & pads. Plus new "shoes"...30x9.50x 15" tires.(tyres may be correct in your area)

Sorry guys...I'm not sure how all that converts to Km.......17 mpg.also( not converting that either) =)
