Re: Gen4 Dash Rattle - Statement from Mitsu SA
Agree with John, he is closer and is the real brains behind this operation (yes, the bracket install is a bit of an operation in itself). It is probably possible to explain to someone over the phone but there are a few tools that are needed due to the access issues which makes it costly unless you can do a few dashboards yourself. Between John and I we have these tools.

Hi JohnG

Thanks for all your efforts so far on this subject. Like Eddief, I too am Cape Town based, and have also been following this thread for some time. I have a 2008 (registered '09) 3.2 LWB GLS with the Rockford Fosgate system, and am very keen to have the brackets/cable ties done.

I would be more than happy to contribute towards your costs should I be able to get my name on a Cape Town list for an upcoming visit.

Regards,
IanH.

To give you gents and idea.I think i can safely do 5 cars a day. That could keep me busy from 8am to around 4pm..If all really runs smooth you can add 2 to that tally.
As for a 2015 model...At the end it is the owners decision but i have spoken to Mitsu and they certainly dont condone the fix due to warranty issues only, especially because with my fix you have to move a wiring harness.

Then, how many guys are available during the week?Or would we have to do it over a weekend?Just trying to get a feel for how i can plan around maybe a short holiday in the area.
Re: Gen4 Dash Rattle - Statement from Mitsu SA
Hi again JohnG

I am available anytime, weekday or weekend. So I would be happy to join a weekday list if that means freeing up a weekend slot for someone else who can't make it during the week.

Regards,
IanH.

You can add my name to the list of those interested in getting John to CT to apply the fix. I think that makes it 3 so far? Any day of the week should be fine. Any idea of cost per vehicle and the location where it will take place? Ed

Re: Gen4 Dash Rattle - Statement from Mitsu SA
Just some feedback:

I've had the cable ties and brackets in place for a couple of weeks now and the dash hasn't so much as uttered a squeak. It doesn't move at all. I've been down a few rough roads (although nothing too heavily corrugated yet) and the difference in my vehicle is massive.

Thanks Kurt, and thanks John for the design!

I'll be heading to Zim in a few weeks time, taking a corrugated road up to the Zambezi, so I'll feed back how it goes. But I'm quietly optimistic...
