Hi All, what a relief to have stumbled onto this thread! I purchased a 2008 model SWB earlier this year and have been crazy (in the good way) about the vehicle from day 1. Only problem, I want to pull my hair out every time I drive it on gravel. As I live on a game reserve in the Waterberg, the first part of any trip for me means about 20km of rocky/corrugated gravel road. If there is any opportunity at all to get in touch with John or Kurt with regards to their dashboard fix I would be immensely grateful!
Regards,
Hermann Muller

Some new feedback
I was requested by our local dealer to install brackets in a brand new 2015 pajero. It seems the buyer insisted on it and despite mitsu not giving the OK the client was happy to take responsibility for me doing it.
The vehicle was kitted with a rockford system and was so so much easier to do than vehicles with caska units as the caska has enough cabling to wire a small house.
The install went smoothly and made such an improvement the owner brought his 2008 pajero that he also has to do.
Its damn nerve reckin to dismantle the dash of a brand new vehicle and does take a bit more time because i am a bit more careful not to scratch anything etc.
Another thing i found when we test drove the 2015 was a faint plastic tapping sound eminating from inside the dash.
It turned out to be the centre right aircon duct, situated behind the radio that was every so slightly touching another passing duct..I just stuck a double sided padded strip between the two ducts and sound gone.

John,
Was the Paj still "on the floor", or did the owner want the dash fixed after firsthand experience during early ownership?

Roelf, it was a demo and he wanted it done before collection because he knows about the issue as he owns a gen4 already.hence he let me do his old one too.he did zpparently test drive the demo but they did not go on bad roads
I did mention that maybe he should maybe first own it and make sure he has issues but he insisted it be done.must say the section at the window was quite loose for a 2015 but the cable ties pulled it tight nicely.i asked thathe gives feedback zsespecially as I did both his cars and he should pick up any improvements as he lives on farm and drives lots of corrugations.
