Here are the DOTS
Double click on a dot and you should fly in your Google Earth to that position.

Gentlemen,
I'm going to drop off the grid for a week - flying down to our little cottage on the West Coast.
Please don't be alarmed when I ignore your posts during my absence, the arrangements are all in place and it is all systems go.
If anybody else wants to join us for the trip, please feel free to ask CATS to add your name to the list.
Until next week then, cheers.
Roelf

Bump
just keeping this thread going.

really looking forward to it.
What do we need for Sat night, chairs, food and a nice bottle of red.
Do we need to bring braai grids, charcoal, 2 sharp sticks to start the fire ?

Last time we had a braai at Diggers Retreat and they provided pap and sous if I recall correctly. You could also get braaipak from them? Not sure, Roelf will probably help when he is back.
Chairs are always good but they also provided a nice lapa and some chairs and tables for our use.
Something I really missed on the previous trip was some radio contact and maybe we must try and get something organized here?
Can I get some hands up here on the people attending!!
How many people have:
1. 29Meg radio with ORRA frequencies
2. VHF radio with ORRA frequencies
3. Licence free radio (Typically Outdoorwarehouse Zartek type etc) - Most work on the same channel.
I have all three and I think the last option might work OK in close convoy work on the mountain. I have some extra radios as well on the last option so can possibly help with one or two more vehicles here as well.
I would really like to try and get ALL the vehicles in the group to be able to communicate with each other as this would really add a different dimension to the trip!

Hi Cats
I have a kirisun PT3500....if I can get the open freq (not the licensed orra...that would be wrong), I can try and get the radio tuned..
This is the range of the PT3500.
Frequency range : 136 ~ 174 MHz, 400 ~ 420MHz, 420 ~ 450MHz, 450 ~ 470MHz

The licence free radio, Zartek and Oregon Scientific, that I have is tuned to channel 3 on each radio, and this is frequency UHF 446 030 MHZ it seems.

Dankie CATS, sal kyk of ek kan plan maak.
