Good to hear you have her back. Hope the insurance covered most of it!
No water crossings, I presume?

What, of course, the snorkel just bumped to the top of the list!!
I only had my excess to pay.
best of all.
They flushed the engine and put new gaskets on, she runs as good as the day I bought her. There is definite proof of water on the pistons, but they are all fine. These engines are truly the best there is!!
All electronics are also 100%, I only have an issue with the starter, but the mechi is adamant that is due to wear and tear. Wasn't there before, but hey, that might just be a service on the starter so no worries.
We'll see what she does this weekend.

Achille,
After this experience:
...leading to this:
I must agree you made the right choice to fit one!
Hope you get good use for it.
Remember - the snorkel does not keep the water out of the cabin!

Andre,
Did you check for water in the gearbox, transfer box and diffs? Otherwise your next problem may be on its way...
Maybe you must consider breather extensions along with the snorkel - a good combination for mechanical protection against water damage.

Hi Anton
I wholeheartedly agree on your advice, about checking up on the g/box, transfer box & diffs (after a water crossing), as that day's outing caused the rear diff oil to get contaminated.......and I had just had it renewed a week or so earlier
The snorkel will help too......

Oils, have apparently been checked, but trust me, if something goes wrong, I have loads of emails and letters and conversations to fall back on.
