At 211 000 I have replaced cyl head gasket and did a inline overhaul, after overheating due to burst water pipe. Done Injectors couple of times. Replaced P/plate due to salt water driving in Moz. My Mate Hansel own's a 2005 3500 GLS gen2 that has done 435000 with original motor

Please also look here (and get your mate to do so as well):

Your mate will be right up in the top 3!, 'nogal' a petrol engine...
I presume you meant Hansel has a 1995, not a 2005?

What model / year is your Pajero? 2003 DiD GLS LWB A/T
How much mileage had your Pajero done? 215'600 km
Is it the original motor? Original Motor (and other major components)
Any major work?
Purchased the car with 187'000km and as far as I can tell it is the original motor with full service record.
Replaced the following:
New electric aerial mast 187'000 km, old was not working anymore
New brake pads
Car gets serviced every 7'500 km, but thinking of extending this to every 10'000km
After reading through the posts on this forum I have proactively changed the following:
* Radiator pipes and cap proactively replaced
* Timing chain guide was checked and still looked brand new, thus not replaced. Chain was also checked and not replaced
* Engine oil pressure sender proactively replaced
* Running on delo 400 oil as per recommendation
* Valve clearance adjusted
* New brake pads
* New (standard Pajero) shocks
