Information on Japanese Import
Morning guys/girls

So glad I found this forum. I'm the PROUD owner of a 2004 Pajero GDI (EXCEED) 5 Door. :P

Now, I dont know much about this vehicle and there is NO owners manual or service book. I do know the previous owner very well (lady owner) hence the easy decision to buy the car.

What is the engine size and all other details of this vehicle? I will still search this site for details, but maybe some generous person will send me all the information. ;)

As far as I know, the car is a 3.8 V6 engine.

Re: Information on Japanese Import
Hi Piri, and welcome!

As far as I know the GDI is a 3.5l V6 and was never offered in SA. The engine series is 6G74, the same as the normal SOHC 3.5 V6 we had in early Gen III's, save for the fancy Gasoline Direct Injection bit and having DOHC (like the Gen 2 3.5). A quick look on the web quotes these specs:

With the 6G74 3.5-litre V6 as the base, this engine runs DOHC heads, a 10.4:1 compression ratio and direct injection. The result is an impressive 180kW at 5500 rpm and 343Nm at 4500 rpm. Curiously, the post ’99 Pajero is detuned to just 162kW/348Nm.

Check out the downloads section for workshop manuals. Owner's manual you can probably do without ...

Been looking on wikipedia also and I'm now more confused.

Thanks scubadude for the info.

My car has the 4 speed auto gear box, does this help?
