Jerry cans

Right lets get the brains working on a Wednesday.
I am looking at manufacturing/modifyin a bracket for a jerry can to fit either on above the spare wheel on the back door bracket.
Any body done something like this before, or anybody with a better idea apart from a roof rack and putting it inside.. I know it won't leak and so on, SWAMBO just don't want it inside... so HAVE to obey.
I think fitting a bracket similar to the high lift jack's one should work. Or just making up a plate that will bolt to the back of the spare wheel braket and bending around and to the top of it should also work. Will the bracket carry the extra 25 odd kilo's???
