I have just bought a 1991 2.5 diesel Pajero and the wheels look a bit small for the vehicle. they are 15 inch at the moment. Is this right? Also it seems to be using a lot of diesel. If i put bigger rims on would that do anything to the consumtion and would it do anything to the gearbox ratio.
Any advice would be appreciated.

15" rims are standard...

It's the tyres that matter regarding consumption and gear ratios. Bigger tyres, generally increased consumption, higher gear ratios
