I got an email from a gent in Cameroon (whom I see has now joined us) looking for a service manual for a 2005 2.8. I wasn't aware of any 2.8's in the Gen3. Gerrit, Christo - you know anything?

We do have Gen3 manuals and 4m40 manuals so he can get by with those.

Simon, the 2.8 (4M40) was available in the Gen 3 in some markets (Even in Aus, the Gen 3 was launched with the 2.8; the DiD only arrived later). I don't think that we have manuals specifically for the 2.8 Gen 3, but with the engine and Gen 3 manuals he should be OK as you suggested.

Don't know if it is applicable to diesels as well, but I am often in Nigeria and there you still get brand new Gen 4 Pajero's with the 6G72 (3 litre V6) together with the 3.8 V6. This is due to the atrocious fuel quality. Cameroon and Nigeria is next to each other, so I assume that the same situation is applicable in Cameroon? Diesel quality in Nigeria is even worse than petrol, you hardly get diesel vehicles there. Diesel is used for generators and cost nearly twice as much as petrol. I know that the 2.8 diesels is quite tolerant regarding bad fuel and that is maybe why you still get them in certain countries? So, the gentleman can get the manual off the internet as Gerrit Loubser suggests, it seems that the engine is still the old 2.8. Hope this helps a bit.
