Sticky inclinometer

My brother drives a 2002 Colt Rodeo V6 4 x 4. The inclinometer is very sticky, and he heard that one can replace the fluid around it with either glycerine or parrafin.

Is this correct or not?

Thanks for the help.

If it is sticky are you sure the fluid hasn't already drained out of it? You can replace the fluid with clear mineral oil.

Mine went dry and I never got a chance to fix it, then did a few hundred kays on gravel and sand - now it's completely stuffed.

I was bothered until I fixed mine and now I never look at it anymore.

I'm thinking of sticking a oil pressure gauge or water temp gauge in there.
