Motorite Extended Warranty

Having done a reasonable amount of research on this - reading other forums, hello peter, etc - one gets the impression that yes they do repudiate claims but the people who complain generally have done something wrong - over distance, time, etc.
So to focus on the positive, have you experienced good service or at least have they paid as per the policy limits?
Perhaps there are other companies (eg Hollard) and how is their service?
I also extend this to service plans and maintenance plans from Motorite and their willingness to pay as per policy. And further to the paint and chip policy from Motorite that Mitsubishi sells...
Any thoughts appreciated for this expensive decision.

Hi,
I had to make the decision last year where or not I wanted to extend my maintenance plan or warranty...
I got quotes, and did some calculations of my last 90 000km maintenance costs, and I decided against it. I think the Pajeros are reliable enough to not require these extensions. Maybe I'll regret it later... who knows?
Cheers
Greg

I decided to purchase a Motorite warrantee for my Gen 3 3.2, which will automatically kick in once my Motorplan expires ( somewhere early next year). It gives you 2 years unlimited mileage cover. Do note that this will only cover repairs when something breaks. Actually, physically breaks. They do not replace as a precautionary.
I had one on my previous car (GTI) as well, but never used it. Does give one some peace of mind though.
I did buy a Regent paint protection package with my Gen 3 (the car is black), and I KNOW I will be making full use of this.

I've had the Motorite plan on a Benz car (in the late 1990's) and the Oxygen 4X4 on my previous Pajero. Both paid claims out up to the stated limits (2X control arms on the Benz, and an alternator on the Pajero).
Orbit Boland handled the admin of the claims. The cars were serviced to requirement (by the agents).
So, all in all a worth while experience.
On my current Pajero and on my daughter's Hyundai Atos I skipped on the plans - these cars are reliable enough. (Hope I do not eat those words later). The other daughter's Getz came with a plan that has now expired, and there was not a simgle problem with the car for 2 years - fortunately, I guess! The seller (of the Getz) told me I was wasting my money!
