hi guys does any one know if i can replace my rear diff on a 3.0 auto pajero 2 with a 3.5 manual pajero 2 and will it affect the gearing on the auto box

Hi there.looked at putting 5.2 ratio diffs with rear difflock in my 93 3500.swapping rear diff complete and front diff complete .but they were smaller. mine runs a 12 bolt housing on the rear and the front is eight inch.my diff ratio is 4.63.I thought the other diffs might not handle it with 35s.Can be done though just find a lwb 4d56 with rear difflock and use pump /switch.wiring is already there.goodluck

Divide the ring gear teeth by the pinion gear teeth. The ratio should be the same to avoid unstable 4x4.

If you change the rear ratio you have to match the front as well.

Changing the ratios will affect the autobox characteristics, just like changing tyre sizes does

should be a silver sticker on the rear diff that will give you the ratio.if the rear diff head is 12 bolt (9.5 inch) ithink you are limited in ratios .
