Please advise/comment on my proposed existing Kenwood 7102 and new GME GX300 Two Way Radios fitment
Thanks

That should work but will require some cutting.
Bear in mind the GME is not all that suited to flush mounting.. despite the sales blurb... the flush mount bracket will not fit in your proposed position.
I'm more interested in your antenna positions

Experience has taught me to have the aerials at the highest point thus it will be mounted on the uppermost position on the back side panel on both sides.
Whacko! You might also want to consider a roof-top mount quarter-wave antenna for the VHF radio, unless you have a roof carrier. Whatever, if you intend using both the current ORRA VHF frequencies, then replace the ZARA130 with a Zara60 antenna and trim it midway between the two ORRA frequencies, i.e. around 157.000 MHz. This will work more effectively than the Zara130 5/8 antenna due to the wide spread in the two frequencies.Blister wrote:Experience has taught me to have the aerials at the highest point thus it will be mounted on the uppermost position on the back side panel on both sides.
