We were in serrriasss need to sort our packing in the Paj before someone went crazy. So, we planned a bit, bought a bit and built a lot. Basically we wanted place to put some wolffpacks, foodstuffs etc that needs to be portable, eg between camping kitchen and vehicle or between chalet and vehicle. So we incorporated a place to put 2 x wolffpacks. We needed a drawer to put all kinds of stuff in, and it had to be easy accessible. And then most important of all, we needed to sort the fridge to be accessible from inside as well as outside. When the fridge is removed there is a large flat surface the whole of the loading area and when the bench seats are folded flat the seatbacks and the drawer system are on the same level to form a lekka bed for stop overs.

Nice job Johan, I hope its as practical as its looks indicate. What are you using on the corners? any chance you can post some specifications?

I just responded to your post on 4x4 comm but it's worth repeating here. Very nice work.

I really like the little tray idea, but I'm not clear why you have the lid opening the way you did because it seems very difficult to get into the fridge then

Simon, with the fridge pulled out all the way on the sliders, it is actually very easy from the side to get to the contents of the fridge.Even my 11 year old daughter can get her own water/colddrink by climbing on the bumper AND the kids can get whatever they need from their seats while travelling, that is the main reason why the fridge is mounted backwards.

JP

Would you be so kind as to post pictures of the table slide built within the fridge slide? Is a very cool concept.

Sure, will take pics tomorrow and put them up here, it really is quite easy to do. We gave the drawer system a run the past weekend to KNP, and I'm quite chuffed with the ease and practicality.

Hi,

That looks great :)

Where did you mount the slides to the frame? On the vertical bars? How many points are they fastened?

I would like to mount a fridge slide in a frame similar to yours, but what is bothing me is that the slides do not have a mounting point right at the front - the first mounting point is about 40mm front the front of the slide.

Cheers
Greg

Some pics with the fridge removed and with the seats folded flat.

Greg, I attached the slides directly to the frame. What I did was to disassemble the slides and drill holes into the slides according to the spacing with the frame uprights and then I attached them to the frame.
