Driver side mirror vibrating
Any idea how I can get the vibration sorted on my mirror. On corrugated roads (and the odd bumps) my mirror vibrates :( I HATE rattles........

I have looked if I can unclip the unit (looks like it, but I cant get it off) and the stealers say they would just replace the whole thing :o (I didn't even bother asking how much)

Any advice?

Re: Driver side mirror vibrating
Mine does not quite vibrate but it feels as if the it moves forward a notch, like the mechanism is worn thats meant to keep it steady
Re: Driver side mirror vibrating
When I had a Hyundai some years ago it also started the vibration on the mirror. The dealers at the time solved it by pushing some firm sponge into the back of the mirror, inside the housing. This stopped the vibration but also somewhat limited the movement of the mirror by the motor inside it to some extent.

Re: Driver side mirror vibrating
If you look at the bottom of the mirror housing there is a plastic clip,if you remove this you will find two screws that secure the housing to the bottom mount, either replace these with new and or re secure them with BLUE loctite.Blue is for when you wish to remove it again with hand tools, never ,ever use GREEN. Worked on my 98 pre-blister model. Hope this helps. :ugeek:

Re: Driver side mirror vibrating
Late reponse ...

Got the same problem on my driver's side but never bothered to look how to fix it. On my Colt the passanger door mirror did the same and then came out completely (saved by the electrical wirting). Stuck it back in with epoxy glue and taped a large ball of rags overnight as a makeshift clamp. Sold the car three years later without ever having to look at it again ...
