Power steering?

Hi

My Colt 3.0 V6 's steering is very stiff and feels very unstable. The steering wheel does not "return" after turning in a direction but sort of stays in the position it was turned to. I have recently replaced most of the suspension on the front i.e Tie rods, idler arm, pullman arm, ball joints etc. Can this be due to suspension or is the power steering pump not functioning properly. How do I :?: test the pump?

I would rather suspect the problem to be in the steering box itself. Did somebody fiddle with the adjustment bolt on the steering box?
Try to loosen that and then tighten just enough to eliminate play.
You could also loosen the steering from the box at the Pitman arm, to confirm whether the box or the components are stiff.

See attached Chapter 37A from the manual.

Thanx 4ePajero. Don't think adjust was done on stearing box. i did have it open though and will do a bleeding cycle. Also make adjustment to see if it makes a difference.

Tried to adjust but space is limited against bodywork. Only able to adjust about half a turn then it don't allow anymore turning. maybe a good idea to get service kit from the agents and replace all seals.
