To who can give illumination,
I received a recall from Mitsubishi on the brake accumulator for my 2002 Pajero - anyone know what the issue is and why 8 years later they do it? They will replace it free of charge. Did a search on forum, but did not see anything.

They are known to give issues and start making 'cricket like' noises but I have not heard of a failure. I have recieved the same recall on my 2001 model but I replaced mine in July this year due to it becomming noisy. I am still trying to get an answer if they will refund my costs on this unit.

It seems that there was a recall, and that it is valid to 150000 miles (240000 km).
Maybe worth the while for all Gen3 owners of early 2000's to check with the agents.

A recall to rectify a mistake that was made 8 years ago shows me that they stand behind their product. This would help me decide when buying the next vehicle.

I have received the same recall letter. See what colour dot (pink) on mine due to an earlier recall I am told. Will take mine back as the current accumulator has a squeaking air release sound and will see what they say

Hi guys
Got a letter from Mitsubishi Motor on Friday about a possible fault with the brake accumulator
They have now requested me to bring my Pajero in to a dealer so they can check the component and replace if necessary.
I presume some of you also have received a likewise letter
Regards

Great was my surprise when I got this letter on a recall after 9 years! I have not had time to phone the agents - but I have the same question mine was replaced less than 6 months ago. Will they refund? What was interesting is that they sourced me as my car was bought second hand beginning of the year and haven't been to agents in a while.
WOW 10/10 for Mitshibushi.
The letter is funny though... no contact numbers or adress or anything....
