Hello,
I am a new guy with 4x4 and also Pajero, I own a Gen1 and I read there is something on the front wheels that specify there is a chance to lock the hubs, I have 2 questions:
1.- Why do we need to lock the hubs?
2.- How do I do it on my gen1? I looked for a switch or something but I can not find it t5o activate it.
Thank you very much for your help.

Welcome here Israel
In normal 2h the front wheels are disconnected from the drive train to save on wear & tear and fuel. In an off road or situation that we engage the 4wd by pulling the short lever we need to engage the front wheels to transfer the power from the drive train.
The Gen1 has automatic locking hubs so you don't have to do anything other than engage the 4wd, to disengage the hubs it might be necessary to reverse for a short bit after selecting 2h.
