Suspension upgrades and independent suspension
Hallo everyone. After reading the thread about Cats suspension upgrades I decided to ask a question that has been bugging me and hubby ever since we bought the Pajero. We noticed that it did sag in the back with the trailer hitched, and considered changing the suspension to OME. We spoke to a lot of people like Safari Centre and also spend a lot of time looking underneath the vehicle. What bothered us is that certain angles of the independent suspension will surely be altered if the body is raised with longer and stiffer coils. This is the question: will there be strain on the suspension by raising the body higher with other coils? Can it affect the alignment? We have no experience with the independent suspensions but had OME on both our Land Cruisers. We never had any problems but of course the LC has a completely different design. Does anyone have any thoughts or experience on this?
We are thinking about adding a roofrack for longer trips to Botswana and Namibia for jerrycans and maybe a second spare tyre, so then we will have to look at the suspension upgrade again
We fitted the airhelpers in the back and that sorted the problem out with the trailer, but some sagging will occur again with a roofrack.
