2004 3.2 DiD auto box causing idle problems

Seasons greetings to all fellow Pajero owners.
My 2004 SWB 3.2 DiD auto has a very weird problem. If i select either D or R, then the revs drop dramatically and the engine feels like it wants to stall. It revs at about 550 rpm and runs very rough.
If I select N or P it immediately returns to 750 rpm and the engine is very smooth.
I have had just about everything checked, the pump and injectors also redone by Alan Black.
The problem is intermittent..it worked 100% for the past 2 weeks and then it started again.
I did check the transmission fluid and it is a bit above the "hot" marks. I know they replaced the gearbox fluid and filter a few month ago but still did not resolve this problem.
Does anybody have any suggestions as to why this is happening?
