Rear diff on 97 SWB

Hi Guys,

Has all the 1997 SWB Paj's got LSD at the rear or only some of them. I need to change the oil and want to make sure that I put in the correct oil.

The gearbox, transfer case and front diff is sorted, oils changed, just not sure about the rear.

What oil should I use if it has got LSD?

This little project 95% completed. (my 25k 97 SWB cheapy). As said, 95% complete. I don't think any project gets completed 100%. There is always that "I still want to do this or that" thing.

Thanks

Renier

Again, can someone explain to me (step by step) how to load photos here. I've tried and tried, no joy). I would like to showcase my little cheapy. It came out very well (three weeks hard labour with plenty unfriendly new words learned). After this I am a Pajero mechanic accredited by me. Ha,ha. learned a hell of a lot doing all the work myself. And its a fantastic feeling once you are finished and stand back, looking at your hard work. It shows you, anyone can if he wants to, or have to?
Anyone wants to fit a front diff into a cockeyed suspension, call me? ha,ha.

Yes. All came out with LSD till 98, when they put rear difflocks in on the blister fender (face lift).

There has been some variations (like pre 98 blisters with LSD), but I am not aware of any OME difflocks before 98.

get best gl-5 oil from your local midas and then ask the dealer for the friction modifier to add to the rear diff oil - it's less than R60 last time I checked.

Thanks, I've ask at Midas, Autizone and another spares place. They do not know what I am talking about. Could you pls give me a specific brand name of this friction modifier?
