Hi all - please can someone advise. I have a 2007 Pajero 3.2 LWB. It has 155 000 kms on the clock and is just about to get out of the motorplan. I dont do too much of serious offroading but do approximately 700km gravel roads an a month.
The vehicle is fantastic and I have enjoyed every minute with it. However I am concerned at the maintenance costs. How much will the cambelt cost to change, how much is a major service incl brakes (i have been told by the dealer that the last service at 150 000 km + brake change cost R10 000.
I have been offered R200 000 for the vehicle - but am very hesitant to let go.
Thanks

They have a timing chain and not a belt on the diesel 3.2. This chain should outlast the engine. Brakes are expensive yes, but that is a maintenance item on any vehicle. Is the vehicle still under finance contract? If paid up it makes the sums a no brainer to keep.

Mine is at 235000km currently and still goes well, but I have started to replace items like rubber hoses etc as preventative maintenace. Also on my manual I had to spend about R10000 on a new clutch and some repairs to the gearbox some time back, but otherwise only normal wear and tear items replaced like oil and brakes, tyres and shocks.
